Our response to the Coronavirus pandemic

Are you in need of support?

Greyfriars is able to provide friendship, conversation and assistance where we can.

In this unprecedented time, Greyfriars has taken several steps in response to the pandemic.

Our buildings are beginning to reopen in line with Scottish Government and Church of Scotland Guidlines and Regulations. Things are not normal in our churches at this time, but much of our work continues and you are welcome to join us in whatever way you are able. As our buildings open you can rest assured that we have done as much as is in our power to ensure our building is as safe as it can be for you to visit. You can read more about our latest plans in our newsletter.

Weekly worship continues. We are broadcasting a weekly service of worship, on Sundays at 11am, at Greyfriars on Demand. You can join us there, either live or later on.

Monday afternoon worship is now taking place, each Monday at 2pm. Whilst this is open to anyone to turn up at, the capacity of our church is severly reduced and so we suggest that people contact us to reserve a space. If you wish to reserve a space in advance you can contact us by using any of the methods below.

Tuesday and Thursday evening worship takes place each week on Zoom. It is a short (20 minute) reflective service where we are able to take time and chat with one another afterwards. It is very relaxed! If you wish  to join then please email [email protected] for the meeting ID and Passcode..

Space for prayer is available on Fridays between 10am and 2pm. The church will be open for people to spend some time in prayer and contemplation. Physical distancing and hygiene measures are in place.

We are providing regular reflections on facebook. At points throughout the week, Bryan and Louise provide a short reflection on our Facebook page. You can join us there, and you don't need to be a Facebook member to do so.

Our support hasn't stoppedIf you are in need of support, conversation or just a listening ear, we have set up various ways you can contact us:

If you need practical support Greyfriars Church is providing the management of our community support group, Lanarkhelps. If you need support with medication collection or shopping then you can contact us on 01555 437051 Monday - Friday 9am - 4:45pm or Saturday 9am-12noon. We also have a jigsaw library and a library of resources for those with memory loss. These are delivered once a week and collected from your home by a volunteer. If you are, or know of anyone who is bored or feeling isolated then you can contact us on 01555 437051 or complete our registration form at www.lanarkhelps.org.uk

We hope and pray that you stay safe and healthy.
