In May 2008 the congregation adopted a statement to help us realise why, as a congregation we exist. It is not a mission statement, nor is it a statement of purpose, rather is it an aid to help us in our mission.

Greyfriars Parish Church, Lanark seeks to serve the community and provide friendship, care and unconditional acceptance for all people.

We belong together in a diverse family united in the love of God who share in worship and the service of God while examining, nurturing and sharing our faith to become better disciples of Christ.

Whilst we may not always manage to fully live out this statement it is our hope that we will continually hold it at the centre of our congregational life.

Greyfriars is a church that is open to all people, regardless of who they are or how they live their lives. If people find a place in our church family, then it is our privilege to journey with them in our shared faith.
